Looking for a hands-on, enriching experience for your students?

The New Britain Museum of American Art offers after school adventures for Pre-K-12 programs to engage with art up close either in the classroom, at the Museum, or both!

Our offerings:

• We visit you! A Museum Educator will visit your group at your school, explore artworks and ideas from the Museum's collection. Students will delve further into the topic with a hands-on activity. (1 hour) *25 students maximum per session with multiple sessions available per visit

• You visit the museum! Spend some time in the galleries of the New Britain Museum of American Art, the oldest museum for collecting American art in the country. After looking at and talking about art in the galleries, you’ll visit the Museum studios and experiment with making your own work of art. (1 hour)

• Best of both worlds! We’ll visit your group at your school on one day, learn about the elements of art, and then we’ll apply our conversation to an in-gallery visit at the Museum and hands-on studio activity on another day. (1 hour each day) *25 student maximum per school-visit session with multiple sessions available per visit

Price: $150 per visit/ $290 for a school-visit and Museum-visit paired experience
