Adult Studio | Pour Paint with Sue Byars

Students will learn the "dirty pour" technique of pour painting while applying metallic acrylic paints to various glass objects; plates, bowls, cups, and saucers. Their finished creations will result in a dinnerware set for 4 that is both unique and beautiful.

November 2 - Glass Plate Pour

• 4 glass plates
• (3) 4oz bottles of metallic acrylic paints (Students to decide color choice)
• (1)4 oz bottle of glitter (Optional)

November 9 - Glass Bowl Pour

• 4 glass bowls
• (3) 4oz bottles of metallic acrylic paints (Students to decide color choice)
• (1)4oz bottle of glitter (Optional)

November 16 - Glass Saucer Pour

• 4 glass saucers
• (3) 4oz bottles of metallic acrylic paints (Students to decide color choice)
• (1)4oz bottle of glitter (Optional)

November 30 - Glass Cup Pour

• 4 glass cups
• (3) 4oz bottles of metallic acrylic paints (Students to decide color choice)

Artist Biography:

My name is Sue Byars, a pour paint artist presently residing in Windsor, CT. I recently moved back to CT from Tennessee due to the loss of my son. I felt as though I was drowning in feelings of anger, pain, and helplessness - disconnected from the world until I became numb. I asked God to give me something to make me feel again and he did. He gave me the gift of pour painting. I am passionate about pouring paint; thus, the name Pourwhore! It has provided me the freedom to be creative, innovative, and introspective while allowing a peaceful space for my heart to heal. It has helped me to feel again.

During the past six months I’ve shown at various venues including the Greater Hartford Jazz Festival, The Painted Door Festival hosted by BACA in Branford, the Hartford L.I.T. Annual Book Festival, the 30 Americans exhibit at the American Museum of Art in New Britain and the Annual Holiday Sampler Fair in Windsor. My hope is that those who experience Pourwhore artwork will feel the joyful peace that now fills my heart and is poured into each of my creations.
