ABOUT THE EVENT
Adult Studio Workshop | Pastels with Mary Beth Sasso
This workshop has been CANCELED.
Enjoy a day of painting with beautiful pastels.
This workshop is excellent for beginners with some experience, intermediate/advanced levels, or anyone who wants to brush up on their skills.
The day will start with a demonstration. Each participant will learn step-by-step techniques, how to render and interpret from a photo reference, and the importance of line, form/shape, composition, texture, value, and color. We will also discuss various papers, tools, materials, and the importance of under drawing.
Then you will begin to work on your still-life painting from the reference photo, which Mary Beth will supply. Remember, everyone will have a finished painting that reflects each person's unique style and experience.
The workshop day is divided into two parts: 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-4 p.m., with a one-hour break for lunch.
Mary Beth will email a material/supply list upon enrollment, plus options for some of the various materials, so it’s not crucial to have the exact list. We will have a critique of the work created and address any additional questions you may have.
This is an excellent opportunity to enjoy the beauty of working with pastels!
