ABOUT THE EVENT

Art and Literature | "The Forest Lover," by Susan Vreeland (CANCELED)

Join docent Terry Gianzinetti for a discussion of Susan Vreeland's The Forest Lover (2004). In this work of historical fiction, Vreeland traces the courageous life and career of Emily Carr, who, like Georgia O'Keeffe and Frida Kahlo, blazed a path for modern women artists; overcoming the confines of Victorian culture, Carr became a major force in modern art by capturing an untamed British Columbia, Canada, and its indigenous peoples before industrialization changed them forever.

Books are available for purchase in the Museum Shop. All are welcome to attend as reading the book beforehand is not required.
