ABOUT THE EVENT

Homeschool Day | Hanging Sculptures

Join us for our March Homeschool Day as we create hanging mobile sculptures! Students will first visit the Museum galleries and take an in-depth look at a few of the sculptures in our collection. Then, in the American Savings Foundation Art and Education Center studios, guided by a Museum Educator, students will create their own hanging sculpture using wood, wire, cellophane, aluminum foil, and paint. Homeschoolers will be encouraged to think about how each of the hanging components interacts with the other, and will be challenged to keep their mobile sculpture as balanced as possible!
