ABOUT THE EVENT

Members Trip: Libraries of New York

Join us for a visit to two of New York City’s most important landmarks: New York Public Library and The Morgan Library & Museum. Begin the day with an early lunch at Grand Central Terminal, before taking a guided tour of the New York Public Library’s Main Branch—a National Historic Landmark. The Main Branch’s iconic façade is flanked by two stone lions, Patience and Fortitude, and the interior of the building houses many beautiful spaces, including the famous Rose Main Reading Room.

End the day with a guided tour of The Morgan Library & Museum, which began as the private library of J. Pierpont Morgan, one of the preeminent collectors and cultural benefactors in the United States. Formerly the Pierpont Morgan Library, it is located in the Murray Hill neighborhood on the Upper East Side and is a registered National Historic Landmark. The Morgan Library & Museum houses much more than books: priceless art, ancient artifacts, and irreplaceable manuscripts.

Come see Sol LeWitt’s Wall Drawing 552D, which will be on view for the next two years at The Morgan Library & Museum.

To reserve your space, call Friendship Tours at (860) 243-1630.
