Studio@4 | Furniture Design

Studio@4 exposes kids ages 9-12 to various art-making processes and techniques. Join us on Thursdays from 4-5:30 p.m. each month to work with different guest artists and master a new medium!

Led by teaching artist Rashmi Talpade, students will learn about the Shakers and their knack for functional yet elegant wooden furniture design in the exhibition Masterworks of Shaker Design: A Tale of Two Enfields. Then in the art studios, students will sketch and design their own furniture pieces that express their unique style, function, and users. The pieces will come to life with the assemblage of wooden scraps and other materials.
