Sunday Music Series | New Britain Symphony Orchestra presents Country Fiddlers
This month, join the NBMAA in welcoming the Country Fiddlers, presented by the New Britain Symphony Orchestra and led by Dana Takaki and Hugh Birdsall, to this months Sunday Music Series. Together, they will perform a mix of cover songs and original compositions on the fiddle and the violin including classic swing tunes, La Vie En Rose and Gershwin’s Summertime: popular covers All Shook Up, and Country Roads: fiddle classics Down by the Riverside, and Wabash Cannonball: and covers featuring the violin and fiddle such as Fisherman’s Blues. This program will also include several original songs written by Hugh Birdsall and his band, When the Morning Comes, Just Maybe.
The duo will also be joined by singer/guitarist Mickey Williston, singer/percussionist Kevin Salley, and Dana Takaki's son, violinist/fiddler Tanner Aikens.
Sunday Music Series is a longstanding program at the NBMAA that features exceptional performances from a variety of local and regional ensembles.
