ABOUT THE EVENT
Sunday Music Series | The Timeless Songs of Fred Astaire
This February, the NBMAA is thrilled to present New Britain-born pianist John Brighenti, and vocalist/dancer Julian Wilde as they recreate the music of the early 20th century in tribute to the legendary dancer Fred Astaire.
Considered one of the greatest dancers of the 20th century, Fred Astaire also performed some of the most celebrated songs of the time, written by legendary composers like Irving Berlin and George Gershwin. His on-screen performances as an actor, dancer and singer inspired film composer Burton Lane to bestow upon Astaire the title of “the world’s greatest performer”.
Sunday Music Series is a longstanding program at the NBMAA that features exceptional performances from a variety of local and regional ensembles.
