Even with all the fluctuation in the market, donations of appreciated stocks, bonds and securities remain a tax-favorable way to make charitable gifts. You receive a tax-deduction for the full fair-market value of your gift and avoid capital gains tax, allowing you to give more without spending any cash. Click here for transfer information.

Let us know about your stock gift so we can be on the lookout. Often times, important information—like who you are—may not be included with the transfer.

The NBMAA meets all requirements to receive distributions directly from your IRA, if you are over the age of 70 ½. Gifts up to $100,000 can fulfill your Required Minimum Distribution and are not considered part of your taxable income, allowing you to make a greater gift by using pre-tax dollars.

Many employers offer a matching gift program as a benefit to their employees and retirees. You can increase your gift to the NBMAA, sometimes doubling or in some cases tripling your gift, by facilitating a matching gift from a participating corporation. Cash and other gift types—including volunteer hours—may be eligible.
