Curatorial Internship

Fall/Spring/Summer

Reports to: Associate Curator

Academic credit optional (12–15 hr/week minimum, full–time optional)

Curatorial Interns at the New Britain Museum of American Art will have the opportunity to work closely with the Director and Associate Curator to gain professional experience and great insight into organizing exhibitions and running a museum.

Interns will help research and organize upcoming and potential exhibitions as well as research, write, and format wall labels. They will also aid with basic administrative tasks including filing, correspondence, and mailing. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred. Interns will preferably have a strong interest in research, writing, and art history.

Curatorial Interns must have the ability to work well with other volunteers, visitors, and Museum staff, as well as be organized, detail-oriented, enthusiastic, resourceful, and flexible.
