Jean Holden Eminent Visiting Artists Workshop Fund | Natural Land Cultural Space: Mapping the Self in Spacetime with TLisza Jaurique and Marcus Zilliox

Many Indigenous artists are inspired by many different concepts of "Land" in their/our art production as well as a reflection of their/our cultural/historical identity. Using varying concepts of Land, participants will discuss and define their own cultural and historical natural space, and the way it helped shape who they are and what they believe.

Self Portrait Mapping Project:

During this workshop, the participants will create a self portrait using a variety of materials. Concepts that help shape the conceptions of the self/Things to consider: Natural landscape, Trade, Cultural Practices, celebrations, Beliefs, Stories, Music, Poetry/Literature, etc. that help shape the participant's own identity

Materials that will be used within this workshop are beads, baubles, fabric, glitter glue, a variety of collage paper, textured paper, and found objects. All materials will be provided.
