ABOUT THE EVENT

Pattern and Texture in Nature

 —

Start the year at the NBMAA with a new Teen Studio session led by Studio Educator Lindsay Behrens.

This month, students will learn how to capture the natural world on paper and how to notice the fractals, spirals, and Fibonacci sequence in various plants!

In the same vein as special exhibition Neil Jenney: American Realist, participants will examine various plants, trees, and flowers, and work to recreate various naturalistic patterns and textures. With an emphasis on connections between art and math, students will learn how geometry is extremely evident in nature.

Preregistration is required, and students must be registered by January 1.
