Leonardo Drew Bio
Leonardo Drew—currently based in Brooklyn, New York—was born in 1961 in Tallahassee, Florida and grew up in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Drew is known for his contemplative abstract sculptures made from raw and natural materials that are used to highlight themes such as growth and decay, personal and cultural history, and the tension between order and chaos. Drew’s works are featured in the collections of many museums and galleries, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington D.C., and the Tate Modern in London.
