Ways to Give

Gifts of Cash

The easiest gift you can make is an outright fully tax deductible gift in the form of cash, check or credit card charge. With an outright gift your contribution can be put to work immediately.

Gift Pledges

A pledge is a formal statement of your intention to make a gift to the NBMAA. It may be followed by an immediate gift or by payments in the future. The NBMAA encourages full payment of pledges as soon as possible but no later than five years after the commitment.

Named Gift Opportunities

The NBMAA is pleased to offer a wide variety of naming opportunities for donors who wish to establish enduring tributes or permanent memorials to individuals, families or organizations.

Tribute Gifts

Gifts made in memory of a loved one or in honor of an individual, family, organization or special occasion are welcomed. Please specify in the comments on our donation page who the gift is in honor of, in memory of, or in celebration of. We will happily notify the recipient/recipient’s family if you would like.

Matching Gifts

You can increase your gift to the NBMAA, sometimes doubling or in some cases tripling your gift, by facilitating a matching gift from a participating corporation that you are affiliated with. Cash and other gift types may be eligible.

Giving Anonymously

We will honor the wishes of donors who wish to remain anonymous. Please be sure to note that you wish anonymity.

Gifts of Appreciated Securities

Donations of appreciated stocks and bonds are a favorable way to make charitable gifts. You may receive income tax deductions, avoid capital gains tax, and possibly save on your estate taxes. Click here for transfer information.

In-kind

Gifts ranging from donations of materials, equipment, and services to refreshments for special events make a huge difference to the museum. To give a gift in-kind, please contact Amanda Shuman, Associate Director of Development, at (860) 229-0257, ext. 246 or [email protected].

Gifts of Art Work

Over the Museum’s 100 plus-year history, gifts of artwork—from single pieces to whole collections—have contributed to what is today considered an outstanding collection of American art. The NBMAA welcomes your gifts of artwork which can be made through outright gift, fractional gift or through a bequest.

Please contact Lisa Williams, Curator and Head of Exhibitions, at [email protected] or (860) 229-0257, ext. 218.
